All RNs and LPNs are required to have a current license from
the State Board of Nursing before being employed with Interim
HealthCare. Company policy requires all Nurse Aides to be
registered with the Division of Facility Services in North
Carolina. All applicants are then verified through the State
Board of Nursing and the Nurse Aide Registry before employment
with the company.
- Registered Nurses
- Registered Nurses provide a broad range of nursing
care services, including skilled observation and assessment,
care plan development, instruction to patients regarding
medical and technical procedures, direct hands-on treatment,
and communication and coordination with the attending physician
or other service agencies.

- Licensed Practical Nurses
- Licensed Practical Nurses, under the supervision of
a registered nurse, perform technical nursing procedures,
which include injections, dressing changes, assistance with
ambulation and catheter care.

- Physical Therapists
- Physical Therapists provide services related to the
reduction of pain and improved rehabilitation of joints
and muscles, including strengthening and range-of-motion
exercises, heat lamp therapy, and massage.

- Occupational Therapists
- Occupational Therapists assist patients in re-achieving
their ability to perform routine activities of daily living
by offering instruction in self-care, discussing techniques
for coping with physical disability, and suggesting the
use of assistive devices or home adaptation to make living
at home easier.

- Speech Therapists
- Speech Therapists retrain patients who have swallowing
difficulties or speech, language or hearing problems to
improve their physical capabilities or communication abilities.

- Medical Social Workers
- Medical Social Workers help patients and their families
deal with the emotional, social, financial, and personal
problems that may occur as a result of illness or disability,
including the identification and coordination of services
with other community resources.

- Certified Home Health Aides
- Certified Home Health Aides, working under the supervision
of a nurse, provide health-related services and personal
care such as assistance with ambulation, limited range-of-motion
exercises, vital signs, non-sterile dressing changes, and
bathing.
Interim HealthCare offers in-service programs to all staff
members according to Federal and State regulations and employee
needs, on an annual basis. The PPD skin tests and the Hepatitis
vaccination are also available at no charge to all employees
providing patient care.
